- Message board login integration
- There's a new version of MediaWiki running this wiki, which allowed us to provide phpBB login integration. If you have an account on the message board, use that login everywhere on nofxwiki.net! The wiki and message board now use the same login. If you're not signed up for the message board, sign up! Whether or not you already had an account, join the wiki group, and you'll be ready to login and edit this wiki. If you have any problems at all, let me know. One issue with the new wiki software is that some pages appear completely blank. I assure you, they are not, so if you encounter any such articles please edit and save them without making any actual changes and the content should reappear. Thanks! --nofxjunkee 13:07, 12 January 2008 (CST)
- Scheduled down time
- The site will be down for about 2 hours for scheduled maintenance on August 9th at 1:00 AM CDT (7:00 AM GMT). --nofxjunkee 12:39, 27 July 2007 (CDT)
- Some display changes
- The wiki menu thing on the right is hidden by default now, even when logged in. Image galleries are now displayed by default. --nofxjunkee 01:12, 11 June 2007 (CDT)
- 400 articles on each page in categories
- title says it all really, now there are up to 400 articles shown per page on category pages. --nofxjunkee 15:26, 29 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- And then a step to the right
- check out 2000 now as well. i think i might have just one more old backup i can post at some point. --nofxjunkee 17:12, 8 Dec 2005 (PDT)
- It's just a jump to the left
- ... time warp: take me to 1999.
and there's more to come, not sure of the date on this one but it's more recent. i'll upload it soon. --nofxjunkee 22:44, 7 Dec 2005 (PDT)
- New server is running
- Up and running on the new server. Upgraded to MediaWiki 1.4.12. Want an @nofxwiki.net or @no-eff-eks.com e-mail address? Contact me and I'll get you one. (IMAP, POP3, and webmail access). --nofxjunkee 3:30, 10 Nov 2005 (PDT)
- Moving to a new server, some downtime
- I have finally got a nice server that's reasonably fast and I can do whatever I want with (within reason, no media hosting or anything stupid). So I may be able to do cool stuff I couldn't do before. Anyways, I'm doing this over the weekend so there will be a bit of downtime while I move the site (message board already being moved, maybe skinned?). It shouldn't be more than a day or two (maybe more if you live outside North America). --nofxjunkee 22:35, 10 Nov 2005 (PDT)
- Getting ready for the big time (oct 1?)
- Now that 90% of the info from no-eff-eks.com is here on the wiki we're almost good to replace no-eff-eks.com. I've set a date of Oct-01 for the transition. if we finish the stuff on the TODO list before then it could be earlier. there are 200+ bass tabs, 150+ guitar tabs, almost 250 lyrics and songs, and nearly 100 albums in total! after the move this should change to just nofx news, site news can be a separate page. --nofxjunkee 21:36, 3 Sep 2005 (PDT)
- New server, new content
- Less than a day after advertising the wiki on the message board and we now have over 100 new bass tabs, not to mention other additions to the discography. If you're here you probably know the wiki moved to a faster server (with more disk space). The new home has a new address: www.nofxwiki.net. Thanks to everyone helping out, makes it feel all worth while. :) --nofxjunkee 05:23, 3 Aug 2005 (PDT)

- We now have most of the lyrics and pages for individual songs up thanks to Zycloneb. Now we just have to get all the albums to conform to the design that actually links the track titles to the information... I think this is a little too involved for another bot, but I could be wrong. -- nofxjunkee

- Lots has been going on here so it's time for an update to the news. The discography has become the root of this site. It has also been renamed to the generic term Albums. This way we can link most of the other information from album pages and save people trouble finding things. Ok ok, it also happens to make a lot less work for the wiki editors. That may have something to do with it. --nofxjunkee

- More than half of the discography is done. Pretty much all that's left is cleaning up, adding more images for some albums and then adding in the information for CDs and cassettes. Thanks to everyone who's been here contributing stuff for the discography. A few who come to mind are skinnydave, jcgresham, faith and prince albert. --nofxjunkee

- Between drinking, being hungover, and work I haven't had a lot of (other, geeky style) free time the last couple days. Since it's getting to be that time of year (semester's almost done) when people are leaving and finishing exams the next couple days will probably be similar. But you guys have pretty much finished off the EPs I hadn't added yet as well as corrected and added lots of stuff so nothing's slowing down (opposite actually) in my absence. Score one for the wiki. :) I've only glanced around but the discography looks really good! Fucking good job. I'm open to suggestions for a clean way to link pages for record/cassette/cd for each album. Just a link at the top like "Media: Record • CD • Cassette" with those words links to the page? I don't know... -- nofxjunkee

- There are now quite a few LPs with complete information in the discography. Photos for LPs will probably be slower going since we don't have all of them yet. As I add information for EPs I will also be adding the images since we have lots of those lying around. NOFX has so many fucking albums! -- nofxjunkee

- The Album is my new reference for how to do a discography page. Started to use categories, and probably will continue to even though they're not exactly what we want, they're still useful. -- nofxjunkee

- I've layed out the framework for most of the discography. Before adding all the albums I'd like to formalize a structure using Self-Titled as a template. Anyone care to take a stab at changing that page to look better? I'll do what I can... If anyone feels like creating Bootlegs that'd be a help too. :)
- I forgot to mention that I've already got this site's database being backed up nightly to 2 different machines other than the database server -- namely the web server and my computer at home. This is definitely a Good Thing! -- nofxjunkee

- The wiki has now moved to http://wiki.no-eff-eks.com in order to make the change to http://www.no-eff-eks.com easier. It was a relatively painless change (once i was sober) so I think the final move will be smooth as well. I got rid of the text shit and made a crummy logo image. meh, unless it's still too big for you people on smaller resolutions (or whatever) i'll leave it for now. -- nofxjunkee

- There's been a bit of shuffling tonight just to organize things better. As we get a feel for the wiki there will probably be more of this so I'm going to try and get as much of this out of the way before we actually go and start adding mass content. if there are just a few albums/tabs/lyrics/whatever then any changes won't be so daunting. i think it's starting to take shape nicely... though the progress is slow i really think this is the right direction. if only we could integrate phpBB2 into the wiki, oh well it's fine on it's own i suppose.
- watch for this to move to http://wiki.no-eff-eks.com soon. there are reasons, i'll explain later. -- nofxjunkee

- I updated the help document so it's a bit structured now (or rather, the structure is evident) and included some extra info. I figured out that it's dead easy to change that navigation panel on the left, so as soon as i get some free time i'll try and get this shit skinned. i think it'll be easy, and if not then i guess it'll be good to get started on it. - nofxjunkee
- 2005.03.31 3.45am PST
- from now on i've got the web server rewriting the URLs for this wiki. this means that you can surf to www.no-eff-eks.com/wiki/Tablature/Guitar/FTK and it's the same as the previous (long and ugly) URL, www.no-eff-eks.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tablature/Guitar/FTK. also, i'll be posting news with the most recent entry up top, like a blog or the discography. :) -- nofxjunkee

- I've laid some groundwork for the Tablature Page. Comments?

- p.s. i changed the sitemap, because i didn't notice you'd made links in there already. whoops!
